KINC RECREATES PETER SIS' ARTWORK FOR MARSHALL FIELD'S

THE COMMUNICATION CHALLENGE
As part of the redesign of their children's department, Marshall Field's chartered Kinc to reproduce selections of Internationally acclaimed Czechoslovakian illustrator, author, and filmmaker Peter Sis's original artwork for the book "Madlenka's Dog," and deliver it as murals and ceiling frescoes throughout the department.

Great idea! Now how do we build it?

KINC COMES TO THE RESCUE
Peter Sis's detailed pen and ink graphic style was recreated using ink markers with washes of color added after the drawing phase was complete. Four ceiling domes were decorated with Sis's image of a city block, reproduced in a circular design - painted in Kinc's shop and wallpapered into the domes on-site.

Kinc also created 250 feet of unbroken vignettes of characters from Peter Sis' work for the soffits of the architectural pieces, as well as two over-sized wall murals, capturing Sis's work flawlessly and creating a whimsical but sophisticated shopping environment.
